Mr Macutkiewicz removed my gallbladder in September 2022, and the care I received from the fist meeting, to the final review was second to none. Experiencing health anxiety and this being my first operation, I was very nervous before the operation. I had lost my Dad a couple of months before, had a newborn baby at home and my Mum was very unwell with covid at the time of the op. I had a lot going on that had raised my anxieties, so the last thing I needed was an operation in the mix and to face more fear. Mr Macutkiewicz reassured and really soothed my anxieties. He answered every question and more, explained things so I understood it all and wasn't phased at all by my anxious presence. On the day of the operation, he came to see me beforehand to explain everything and again settle my nerves. He even popped in to see me briefly when I was on the table being prepared for the aesthetic, as he knew that was the most daunting part for me. His gentle and safe nature really helped to ease my nerves and surprisingly, I felt calmer than I thought I would at that stage! After the operation, I saw him again so I could hear how it went. Again, he reassured me that everything had gone well and calmed my anxieties. He even took a picture of my gallbladder and stones for me, as I was intrigued to see it! I honestly could not recommend this doctor enough - his knowledge, skill, care, empathy and reassurance was amazing, and much appreciated! He's down to earth and really approachable, meaning I could ask all the (in my opinion) stupid questions, knowing I wouldn't be judged or laughed at. At no time did I feel intimidated in the presence of the Consultant, which in the past has happened. If you want to feel 100% safe and in the very best of hands, go and see Mr Macutkiewicz! On a side note, he made my wife feel very welcomed and included on the day. Something which could have been very different if Mr Macutkiewicz wasn't as lovely and none-judgemental as he is. As a member of the lgbtqia+ community, I would also recommend him 100%. Thank you!!

Mr. Macutkiewicz removed my gallbladder in March. At our first meeting he took my concerns seriously & talked to me in detail about gallstones and my options, ensuring that I was fully informed. On the day of the surgery, he came to see me to run through everything again, took the time to see if I had any questions and reassured me. The care I received was amazing and I would recommend Mr. Macutkiewicz to anyone who was having problems with their gallbladder.

I cannot thank Mr Macutkiewicz enough for his care while I was his patient. He listened carefully to me regarding the pain I had been in with my gallbladder and was very knowledgable and explained the next steps to me. He was non-judgemental and also also not phased by the additional factor of my being overweight and made appropriate preparations such as I had a bariatric anaesthetist. I followed the food plan prior to surgery that he recommended which worked well and enabled my liver to shrink in preparation for surgery. I felt safe and trusted him with my care from the initial consultation to the surgery though to post operative care and consultation. I found him to be genuinely caring and empathetic. The surgery went smoothly and I am healing well. The wounds/stitches were neat and I was was well looked after post operation. I am able to eat normally and I am out of pain thanks to his care.

From start to finish he was amazing I've never felt in such safe hands and cared for in every way. He explained everything that was going to happen and kept me totally at ease and I had the biggest gall bladder this year and it was a struggle to remove but he never gave up on me and was the first person I saw when I opened my eyes he is a wonderful doctor surgeon and friend and I was really sad I wouldn't need to see him again I would recommend him to anyone and know he is a huge credit to every organisation he works for and deserves a raise immediately

I had my gallbladder removed six weeks ago by Mr Macutkiewicz. From start to finish, the care Mr Macutkiewicz has given, has been nothing short of outstanding. From the initial consultation, the procedure was explained thoroughly, in simple terms and with details of any risks or complications. I knew from the start that I was in the best of hands. I was able to ask any questions and was not rushed at all during the appointment. The procedure went as planned, with no issues. Mr Macutkiewicz came to see me twice after the surgery, to make sure I was well and also to see if I had any questions. Aftercare for the wounds was explained and I was assured to contact him if I had any concerns. Having just seen Mr Macutkiewicz at my discharge appointment, I can say that I had the same fantastic experience again. A thorough explanation of the surgery and reassured that I could contact him if ever needed. Outstanding in his field, I cannot recommend Mr Macutkiewicz enough.
